Bright yellow clouds currently hang over Alba Iulia Street, where colorful umbrellas normally line the street in summer.
In the evening, they bathe the street in a warm light, but they also have a special effect when the sun is shining—when the light shines through them and creates new moods.

Trajan’s Square / Piata Traian – Insider tip in Timisoara for 2026
(9 January 2026)
One of the most important sights in Timisoara in 2026 is Trajan’s Square / Piata Traian. The square was designed in 1740 and was the economic center of the Fabric district. Daily and weekly markets were once held here.
In the wake of the “Timisoara – European Capital of Culture 2023” program, Trajan’s Square is now actively used. The area hosts numerous local community initiatives as well as smaller events, concerts, and exhibitions.
Smaller, temporary markets are held regularly, often focusing on local producers and arts and crafts. These markets differ from the traditional markets of earlier times and often have a modern character.
The Ferment restaurant is also located on the square. At the Foodservice & Hospitality Expo in Bucharest in November 2025, the Ferment restaurant took second place in the Romania Pizza Challenge.
Piata Traian square is definitely worth a visit.
